Rotate the headlight bulb retaining ring counterclockwise and pull out the bulb socket, ensuring that when installing the retaining ring, each of the three tabs on the ring aligns with its corresponding cutout in the mounting flange. Replace the headlight bulb and socket as a unit, aligning the three slots on the bulb socket's mounting flange with the three bosses in the headlight assembly. When installing the new bulb, ensure the three metal tabs align with their corresponding grooves in the plastic headlight housing, and similarly align the retaining ring's three metal tabs with their grooves. Avoid touching the surface of the bulb with fingers, as oil can cause overheating and premature failure; if touched, clean it with rubbing alcohol. Installation is otherwise the reverse of removal.
