Q: Where is the Thermostat Located on Dodge Charger?
A: On V6 and V8 engines, the thermostat is located in different areas and connected to a large diameter coolant hose. Before replacing, check coolant level, drivebelt tension, and temperature gauge. If engine takes long to warm up, thermostat is stuck open and should be replaced. If engine runs hot and radiator hose isn't hot, thermostat is stuck closed and should be replaced. To replace, disconnect battery cable, drain cooling system, remove air cleaner housing, and detach hose(s). Clean all mating surfaces before reassembly and install new gasket or seal. Refill cooling system, start engine, and check for leaks and proper thermostat operation.
