A: Always check for blown fuses before diagnosing an electrical circuit problem. If the fan motor doesn't come on, replace it. The cooling fan operation is controlled by the air conditioner running or when the coolant reaches a specified temperature. Check the relay and all wiring and connections to the fan motor. To replace the fan, disconnect the negative battery terminal and remove the air filter housing. Raise the vehicle and secure it on jackstands. Detach the fan blade from the motor by removing the nut or retaining clip. Installation is the reverse of removal. Make sure the rubber air shields around the fan assembly are in place.
