How to Replace the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor on Dodge Ram 2500 and Ram 2500?

To replace the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor, drain the cooling system. Then, disconnect the cable(s) from the negative battery terminal(s). Before installing the sensor, encase the threads with Teflon tape to stop leaks. For HEMI engines, remove the drive belt and unbolt the air conditioning compressor to access the ECT sensor. Encase the threads with Teflon sealing tape before installation. Finally, refill the cooling system.
