A: Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Loosen the right-front wheel lug nuts. Set the parking brake, then raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the wheel. Drain the cooling system. Remove the drivebelt splash shield and the inner fender splash shield. Loosen the water pump pulley bolts. Remove the drivebelt. Remove the water pump pulley bolts and separate the pulley from the pump. Remove the water pump mounting bolts. Use a small prybar to free the pump from the housing. Remove all traces of old gasket material from the water pump housing. Clean the mating surface with brake system cleaner. Install a new gasket on the back of the water pump, then carefully mate the pump to the engine. Install the water pump mounting bolts and tighten them in an alternating pattern to the torque. The remainder of installation is the reverse of removal. Refill and bleed the cooling system. Run the engine and check for leaks and proper operation.
