    Q:
How to Replace a Heater Core on Chrysler 300? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Drain the cooling system. Disconnect the heater hoses at the heater core in the engine compartment at the firewall. Tape or plug all openings. Remove the lower instrument panel insulator. Remove the blend door actuator from the heater/air conditioning housing located just above the heater core. Remove the two fasteners that hold the heater core tubes to the heater/air conditioning housing and then remove the flange from the housing. Place towels underneath the heater core tubes and fittings, cut the rubber shrink tubing from around the fittings and then remove the retaining clips from the fittings. Pull the heater core tubes directly out of the heater core and from the firewall and set them aside. Cover or plug the heater core openings. Remove the retainer screw and retainer holding the heater core in the heater/air conditioning housing. Pull the heater core out of the heater/air conditioning housing being careful not to damage any of the seals. Before installing the heater core, make sure all foam seals are in place. Carefully slide the heater core into the housing. Reinstall the remaining components in the reverse order of removal. Refill the cooling system and reconnect the battery. Start the engine and check for any leaks and for proper heater operation.
