    Q:
How do you remove and reinstall the hood latch and release cable on Dodge Caravan? Posted by Customer
    A:
To undo the hood latch one has to first unscrew the bolts attaching the hood latch to the radiator support, and then disconnect the latch assembly. This is followed by the removal of the hood release cable and detaching the latch from the radiator support and reinstallation of the same requires the performance of the above steps in reverse. For the cable, first, pull out the cable end and then slide the cable case end forward in the keyhole groove of the hood and pinch the barb on cable case so as to close it and then unlock the cable from the latch lever and take the cable from the latch. Inside the car pull out the hood release cable and its handle and then take off the rubber handle cover at the hole in the dash panel. Connect a string or wire at the engine side of the cable, disconnect it and pass it through the fire wall into the passenger compartment. Last, attach the string or wire you pulled back into the new cable and pull it back through the firewall to the compartment of the automobile engine completing the process by reversing the steps of removal.
