The MAP sensor is on the upper intake manifold. To remove it on 3.6L engines, begin by pulling off the engine cover. Then, disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor. On 2.4L engines, remove the screw and pull the sensor out. Make sure to inspect the O-ring for any damage and replace it if necessary. Installation is the reverse of removal.

For V6 engines start by removing the engine cover, after that unlock the electrical connector from the MAP sensor by pulling the lock while the release tab is depressed and then disconnect the connector. Third, turn the MAP sensor in anti-clockwise direction for One-quarter turn and pull it out of the intake manifold. Take out the O-ring and when it is in poor shape, with some cracks or other signs of wearing out then change it. TURN the MAP sensor a quarter turn counter clockwise to unlock it or unscrew the MAP sensor bolt if any. Again, you should remove it and check if it has worn out or not, if it has it should be replaced. To remove, unscrew the MAP sensor a quarter turn clockwise if it has been installed, exposed and tightened with a bolt, or loosen the bolt if it has been installed without a bolt.; To install position the MAP sensor in the mounting hole and either turn it a quarter turn clockwise or secure it with a bolt and to complete, reverse the removal steps.

To replace the camshaft reference sensor, first unplug the sensor lead at the electrical connector and loosen the retaining bolt. Remove the sensor from the cylinder head. For a new sensor, ensure a new paper spacer is already installed, and the O-ring is properly positioned. Apply oil to the O-ring before installation, push the sensor down to contact the cam timing gear, and tighten the retaining bolt.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the MAP sensor. Remove the MAP sensor mounting screw and remove the MAP sensor from the intake manifold. Remove the MAP sensor 0-ring and inspect it for cracks, tears, and deterioration. If the 0-ring is damaged, replace it.

Inspect the MAP sensor O-ring for any damage and replace if necessary.

For HEMI engines, place it in position, insert it into the mounting hole in the intake manifold, and turn it 1/4-turn clockwise. For diesel engines, place the MAP sensor in position, insert it into the mounting hole in the intake manifold, and turn it 1/4-turn clockwise. Installation is otherwise the reverse of removal.
