    The Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) is monitored by the computer. If it malfunctions, a trouble code is stored in the computer's memory. To remove the TPS, disconnect the negative battery cable and the electrical connector. Remove the TPS to throttle body screws and take it out. For installation, screw in the TPS on the throttle body and plug in the three-way connector and connect the negative battery cable.
