A:
Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery or remote ground terminal. Remove the starter mounting bolts, push the starter under the intake manifold, and pull it up to access the electrical connections. Disconnect the starter wiring and remove the starter. For the 2.7L and 3.5L V6 engines, raise the front of the vehicle and support it on jackstands. Support the engine with an engine support fixture or floor jack. Remove the engine splash shield, engine mount, crossmember, and other necessary components for access. Disconnect the starter wiring and remove the starter from the vehicle. For the 3.6L V6 engine, raise the front of the vehicle and remove the catalytic converter. Remove the engine mount, disconnect the starter wiring, and remove the starter assembly. For the 2.4L engine (2015 and later), remove the fuse box/PDC and battery tray. Release the fuse box wiring harness clips and loosen the starter upper mounting bolt. Raise the front of the vehicle and support it on jackstands. Remove the driveaxle, disconnect the battery positive cable from the starter motor, and remove the starter from the transaxle. Disconnect the starter solenoid electrical connector and guide the starter out from under the vehicle.
