    Q:
Where is the Thermostat Located on Chrysler 300? Posted by Customer
    A:
On V6 and V8 engines, the thermostat is located in different areas and connected to a large diameter coolant hose. Before replacing, check coolant level, drivebelt tension, and temperature gauge. If engine takes long to warm up, thermostat is stuck open and should be replaced. If engine runs hot and radiator hose isn't hot, thermostat is stuck closed and should be replaced. To replace, disconnect battery cable, drain cooling system, remove air cleaner housing, and detach hose(s). Clean all mating surfaces before reassembly and install new gasket or seal. Refill cooling system, start engine, and check for leaks and proper thermostat operation.

What steps are necessary to replace the thermostat for the 2011 Dodge Challenger? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the thermostat, first remove the engine cover and disconnect the negative battery terminal. Drain the cooling system and remove the air filter housing or air intake duct if necessary. Loosen the hose clamp and detach the hose(s) from the thermostat housing. If the housing is deteriorated, it will need to be replaced. For 2.7L V6 engines, loosen the bolt at the starter motor and remove the heater tube flange mounting nuts. Remove the thermostat housing cover and discard the O-ring seal. Note the position of the thermostat and the air bleed "jiggle valve." For 3.5L V6 engines, disconnect the electrical connectors from the nearby engine oil and power steering pressure switches. Remove the thermostat housing cover and thermostat, being careful to remove any distorted metal from the housing. For 3.6L V6 engines, disconnect the radiator hose and remove the thermostat housing and gasket. For the coolant crossover housing, remove the thermostat housing.
