- A:The MAP sensor is on the upper intake manifold. To remove it on 3.6L engines, begin by pulling off the engine cover. Then, disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor. On 2.4L engines, remove the screw and pull the sensor out. Make sure to inspect the O-ring for any damage and replace it if necessary. For a new sensor, ensure a new paper spacer is already installed, and the O-ring is properly positioned.
