    Q:
How Can I Swap a Ignition Coil on a Chrysler 300? Posted by Customer
    A:
If a coil is misfiring or not firing at all, or causing the PCM to set a DTC indicating a misfire, try swapping it with an adjacent coil. If the suspect coil was causing a DTC for one cylinder, it will likely set the same DTC when installed above another cylinder, indicating a defective coil. For V6 engines, removing the rear ignition coil on the left cylinder head requires removing the air intake duct or upper intake manifold. Disconnect the electrical connector from the coil, remove the mounting screw, and pull off the coil. Installation is the reverse. For V8 engines, remove the engine cover and disconnect the electrical connector and spark plug wire boot for the companion cylinder. Remove the coil mounting bolts and carefully pull up with a twisting motion to disengage the rubber spark plug boots. Inspect the condition of the rubber spark plug boot and replace if necessary. Installation is the reverse.

    Q:
How to clean and inspect ignition coils on Dodge Charger? Posted by Customer
    A:
First of all, wipe the coils good with a dampened cloth and dry them thoroughly. Next, check each coil for any cracks, damage, and carbon tracking. Then, make sure the coil is put into place securely onto the spark plug(s). Replace the coil if damaged.
