    Q:
How can the ignition coil be tested and replaced properly on Dodge Ramcharger? Posted by Customer
    A:
This, together with other ignition components, cannot be adequately checked without the use of electronic diagnostic tools. If there is an issue thought to be with the coil, then it is best to take it to a dealer or a specialized repair shop in electrical problems. To replace the coil, one has to first remove the negative cable from the battery compartment. With the subtle use of coded strips of tape the respective wires can be marked as they are at the coil so that they can be replaced in their right positions if dislodged in the reassembly. Then, it is necessary to disconnect the coil-to-distributor secondary wire and several wires connected to the coil-to physically separate from the coil push the tab at the bottom of the connector, if the car's ignition is electronic. Push up on the top of the coil and unscrew a bolt that connects a coil bracket to the cylinder head or intake manifold, then release the clamp bolt to take the coil off the coil bracket. Removal is the exact opposite of installation and; before making the connection of the coil-to-distributor secondary wire boot, the inside of the said boot should be coated with thin layer of silicone grease.

    Q:
How do you handle a Direct Ignition System (DIS) coil pack for the 1997 Dodge Grand Caravan? Posted by Customer
    A:
For a Direct Ignition System (DIS) coil pack on 3.3L and 3.8L engines, start by labeling the six spark plug wires and measuring the resistance of each cable. It should be 3 to 12 k-ohms per foot of cable, replacing any cable not within this range. Remove the four coil pack mounting bolts, lift up the coil pack, and unplug the electrical connector.

    Q:
What should be done during installation for the 1993 Dodge Ramcharger? Posted by Customer
    A:
For installation, reverse the removal process, ensuring to apply a small amount of distributor cam lubricant on the plate support pins before installing the plate assembly, and set the air gap.
