To check the mounts, raise the engine slightly to remove the weight from them, then check for relative movement between the inner and outer portions of the mount using a large screwdriver or prybar. If movement is noted, lower the engine and tighten the mount fasteners.

1. Remove the skidplate from below the engine compartment. 2. Remove the engine crossmember and the engine oil filter. 3. Use an engine hoist to raise the engine slightly to relieve the weight on the engine mounts and support the front axle with a floor jack. 4. Remove the engine mount through-bolts and the bolts attaching the engine mounts to the front axle assembly, then lower the front axle slightly. 5. Finally, remove the engine mount(s) from the vehicle, install the new mount(s) in the correct position within the bracket, and securely tighten the fasteners.
