    Q:
How Do You Replace the front Stabilizer Bar and Stabilizer Bar bushing on a Chrysler PT Cruiser? Posted by Customer
    A:
Loosen the front wheel lug nuts, raise the front of the vehicle, support it securely on jackstands and remove the front wheels. Remove the sway bar kit link bolts, nuts and insulators from the control arms. Hold the nut with a wrench, unscrew the link bolt and detach the link from the control arm. Note the order of the insulators as you remove the bolt and repeat on the other side. Support the sway bar kit and remove the sway bar kit clamp bolts and clamps from the front suspension cross member. Each sway bar kit bushing clamp is retained by two bolts. Remove the sway bar kit from the vehicle. Check the bar for damage, corrosion and signs of twisting. Check the clamps, bushings and retainers for distortion, damage and wear. Replace the sway bar bushings by prying them open at the split and removing them. Install the new bushings with the split facing toward the front of the vehicle. Attach the bar to the cross member so the slits are facing forward and the cutouts in the sway bar kit bushings are aligned with the raised bead on the cross member. Install the clamps, aligning the raised bead on the clamp with the bushing cutouts and install the belts, but don't tighten them completely yet. Install the link bolts, insulators and nuts, tightening the bolts to the torque. Raise the control arms to normal ride height and tighten the clamp bolts to the torque. Install the wheels and lower the vehicle. Tighten the wheel lug nuts to the torque.

    Q:
How do you remove and install the front stabilizer bar and bushings on Dodge Neon? Posted by Customer
    A:
Loosen the front wheel lug nuts, raise the front of the vehicle, support it securely on jackstands, and remove the front wheels. Remove the sway bar link bolts, nuts, and insulators from the control arms while holding the nut with a wrench, unscrewing the bolt, and detaching the link from the control arm, noting the order of the insulators as you remove the bolt, and repeat on the other side. Support the sway bar and remove the sway bar clamp bolts and clamps from the front suspension crossmember, then remove the sway bar from the vehicle. Check the bar for damage, corrosion, and signs of twisting, and inspect the clamps, bushings, and retainers for distortion, damage, and wear. Replace the bushings by prying them open at the split and removing them, then install the new bushings with the split facing toward the front of the vehicle, using silicone spray lubricant to ease the process. Attach the bar to the crossmember so the cutouts in the sway bar bushings align with the raised bead on the crossmember, install the retainers aligning the raised bead on the retainer with the bushing cutouts, and install the bolts without tightening them completely yet. Install the link bolts, insulators, and nuts, tightening the bolts to the specified torque. Raise the control arms to normal ride height and tighten the bolts to the specified torque. Finally, install the wheels, lower the vehicle, and tighten the lugnuts to the specified torque.
