    Q:
How to remove the power steering pump on Chrysler Sebring? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. For the 2.4L engine, remove the fluid from the reservoir using a suction pump or equivalent. Raise the vehicle and securely support it on jackstands. Remove the engine beauty cover and disconnect the pressure hose bracket. Disconnect the pressure line and supply hose from the pump. Remove the drivebelt. Remove the pump mounting bolts through the pulley openings. Remove the power steering pump for the 2.7L engine. For the 2.7L engine, remove the fluid from the reservoir using a suction pump or equivalent, then disconnect the fluid supply hose at the pump. Loosen the right front wheel lug nuts. Raise the vehicle and securely support it on jackstands. Remove the right front wheel. Remove the drivebelt. Remove the driveaxle/hub nut while an assistant depresses the brake pedal. Detach the tie-rod end from the steering knuckle. Remove the balljoint nut and separate the balljoint from the knuckle using tool 9360 or a suitable equivalent. Lift the knuckle up and out of the control arm and pull the driveaxle out of the knuckle. Remove the driveaxle. Disconnect the power steering pressure line from the pump and remove the pump mounting bracket bolt. Remove the other two pump bracket bolts and remove the pump and bracket from the engine by rotating the pump so the pulley faces the engine. The pump will come out through the gap made when the half shaft was removed. Remove the pump bolts through the gaps in the pump pulley. Separate the pump from the bracket for the 2.7L engine. For the 3.5L engine, remove the fluid from the reservoir using a suction pump or equivalent. Remove the engine cover and unscrew the tube nut on the pressure line at the pump side. Remove the pressure line bracket from the cylinder head. Detach the supply hose from the power steering pump fitting. Loosen the right front wheel lug nuts. Raise the vehicle and securely support it on jackstands. Remove the right front wheel. Remove the right engine mount bracket nuts. Place a floor jack with a block of wood under the engine just below the oil pan. Raise the jack until the wood block just comes in contact with the oil pan. Slowly raise the jack until all three power steering mounting bolts are visible, remove the bolts, then remove the pump for the 3.5L engine. For the 3.
