    Q:
How to Replace the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor on Chrysler Sebring? Posted by Customer
    A:
Handle the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor with care. Damage to the ECT sensor will affect the operation of the entire fuel injection system. 2011 and earlier 2.4L engines have two ECT sensors: Sensor 1 is located at the left end of the engine on the coolant adapter housing; Sensor 2 is located on the right front side of the engine block, above the oil pressure sensor. 2012 and later 2.4L models only have one ECT sensor, located at the left end of the engine on the coolant adapter housing. On 2.7L engines, the ECT sensor is located at the right end of the engine on the coolant outlet housing. On 3.5L engines, the ECT sensor is located at the left end of the engine, near the throttle body and EGR valve. On 3.6L engines, the ECT sensor is threaded into the left front end of the front-bank cylinder head. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the remote ground terminal or battery. Drain the engine coolant to a point lower than that of the sensor. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor, then unscrew the sensor. Before installing a threaded ECT sensor, wrap the threads of the sensor with Teflon tape to prevent coolant leakage. Installation is otherwise the reverse of removal. Tighten threaded ECT sensors to the torque. Refill the cooling system.

    Q:
How to Remove and Install the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor on Jeep Patriot? Posted by Customer
    A:
For 2010 and earlier engines, Sensor 1 is located on the left end of the engine on the coolant adapter housing, while Sensor 2 is located on the right front side of the engine block near the knock sensor. For 2011 and later models, there is only one ECT sensor located on the left end of the engine on the coolant adapter housing. To remove the sensor, disconnect the electrical connector and unscrew it. Wrap the threads with Teflon tape before installing. Refill the cooling system.
