    Q:
How do you disconnect the negative battery cable and replace the Throttle Position (TP) sensor on Dodge Neon? Posted by Customer
    A:
Remove the negative terminal of the battery. Throttle Position (TP) sensor is situated on the front part of the throttle body which is fixed on the air filter housing; if the throttle body is disconnected from the air filter housing and from the air intake duct, it will be comparatively easy to replace the TP sensor as it is enough to disconnect the electrical connector and to remove the sensor retaining screws. It is necessary to unscrew the electrical connector and, then, take out two screws of the TP sensor mounting before taking out the TP sensor. It is necessary to remove and take out the old TP sensor O-ring and replace it with a new one before placing the TP sensor. During installation, the blade at the end of throttle shaft has to be slotted into the whole on the backside of the TP sensor in such a way that the two intended tabs on the interior of the hole will make contact with two sides of the blade. Put the two mounting holes of the TP sensor just a few degree leftward to the holes of the throttle body, then turn clockwise until it is correctly fixed; it will meet some resistance when turned to the right position. For steering, if it is hard to turn check that the throttle shaft blade sits properly on the tabs.
