    Q:
How do you disconnect the negative cable at the battery and remove the ignition switch from the steering column on Chrysler Laser? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the negative cable at the battery and place it out of the way to prevent accidental contact with the negative terminal, which would allow power back into the vehicle's electrical system. Remove the left lower instrument panel cover and the cruise control clutch speed switch if equipped. Take off the steering column cover and then remove the nuts securing the steering column-to-support bracket, carefully lowering the column until the ignition switch is exposed, as it is mounted on top of the steering column. Remove the two mounting bolts, rotate the switch 90 degrees, and detach it from the ignition switch rod. Installation follows the reverse order of removal.
