    Q:
How do you remove and install the ignition switch and key lock cylinder on Chrysler Cirrus? Posted by Customer
    A:
In this position, the following circuits are active, fuel pump relay, starter motor relay, the Powertrain Control Module, the Anti-lock Brake System control module and distributors for the V6 engine. The switch is positioned at the interior part of the steering column and its operation is based on the key lock Cylinder. Start by loosening the negative battery terminal from the ground stud on the left shock tower; then, take out the steering column shields. Third, unthread the key lock cylinder and also the screw that fixes the switch on the steering column. Pressing the retaining tabs, the switch should be taken down from the steering column, and the electrical connector disconnected from the ignition switch. For installation, do the reverse of the removal procedures; guarantee the switch together with the lock cylinder are in running postures before tightening the switch mounting screw. The ignition key lock cylinder is fixed on the right side of the steering column. Once again, take off the negative battery terminals and also the steering column surrounding trims. Put the ignition key in the lock and turn the switch to the run position remove the retaining tab with a small screwdriver to pull out the lock cylinder from the housing. During installation, it is required to switch ignition slot to the 'RUN' position insert the lock cylinder into the housing until retaining tab engages the housing, and test the keys. The steps which follow the process of installation include procedures which are the reverse of removal.
