A: For any hard shifting, it is recommended that the cable be disconnected at the transaxle then shift the car using the shifter located in the driver seat; if the shift lever glides through all the positions easily with the cable disconnected then the cable maybe adjusted. To change out the shift cable one must lift up the hood as well as place a blanket over the left fender. Take out the air filter housing, battery and the battery tray also remove the shift cable from the shift lever using two flat blade screwdrivers in order to dismantle it.
