    Q: How do you overhaul the distributor in 1.6L engine on Dodge Colt?
    A: For distribution for 1.6L engine, start by retracting the clip and the cap of the distributor, and thereafter, taking off the rotor. Secondly, remove this cover and gasket, then the two screws of the vacum controller is also removed. Pull off the snap ring from the breaker base pin and the vacuum control must be pulled out. Loosen the signal rotor shaft tightening screw and the two screws provided for the breaker plate and then detach the signal rotor shaft and the breaker plate from the circuit. Loosen the communication of the signal rotor with the signal rotor shaft by gently tapping on the shaft before unscrewing the two screws fixing the pick-up coil. Remove the two spring retainers using pliers and then remove also the two governor springs as well as the governor weights. Stake the distributor shaft in order to show the position of the drive gear, and then dent the gear to fix the shaft with some soft substance so that the spring pin can be removed with the aid of pin punch while not using the roll pin again. Remove the washer and drive gear from the housing; next, free the distributor shaft from it. For reassembly, drop the shaft back into the housing, line up the marks you made before, put the drive gear back onto the distributor shaft being very careful in tapping in a new spring pin. Set the governor weights to the governor plate and the governor springs and spring retainers in the arrangement as required. Mount the signal rotor shaft on the distributor shaft and fit the pick-up coil on the breaker plate. Insert the projection of the breaker plate into the groove of the housing and fasten it to the housing with the two installer screws as well as the signal rotor shaft tightening screw. Fix the signal rotor on the rotor shaft in such a way that there is no contact between the signal rotor and stator of the pick-up. Screw the vacuum control link to the breaker plate and fit the small snap ring and tighten the two nuts on the vacuum control. Last is to put the gasket and the cover then the rotor to the rotor shaft and finally the distributor cap is placed to the housing and locked by the clip.
