Q: How to Remove and Install Fuel Injectors and Fuel Rail?
A: Remove the engine cover. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Disconnect the fuel delivery line quick-connect fitting from the fuel rail. Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors. Detach the injector wiring harness clips from the fuel rail and set the harness aside. Remove the harness retainers from the fuel rail bolt studs. Remove the fuel rail mounting bolts. Carefully pull up on the fuel rail to disengage the injectors from their respective bores in the intake manifold, then remove the fuel rail and injectors as a single assembly. Remove the O-rings from each injector and discard them. Install new O-rings and coat them with some clean engine oil to facilitate installation of the injectors. Make sure that the injector is square to the bore of the mounting pipe and push it down into the mounting pipe until it's fully seated. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the fuel rail retaining bolts to the torque. Start the engine and check for leaks at the quick-connect fitting that connects the fuel supply hose to the fuel rail. Also look for leaks at the upper end of each injector, where it's installed into the fuel rail.
