How to Remove the Fuel Level Sensor on Jeep Compass?

Gasoline is highly flammable, so caution must be exercised when working with it. To remove the fuel pump module, disconnect the fuel level sensor electrical connector by depressing the tab and disconnecting it from the underside of the fuel pump module. It is important to avoid touching the terminals or the sensor resistor card, as well as pulling the sensor by the wires or float arm. To remove the sensor, press the fuel level sensor snap tab to the left while gently pushing up on the bottom of the sensor. Release the snap tab and slide the sensor off the fuel pump module. Using a narrow electrical connector terminal tool, dislodge the sensor terminals from the connector body, then install the terminals of the new sensor into the correct positions in the connector. The remaining steps for installation are the reverse of removal.
