    Q:
How do you replace the knock sensors for the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the knock sensors, start by disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal. Then, disconnect the knock sensor electrical connector, which is located at the rear of the engine, behind the intake manifold. If you can't find the connector, wait until you have removed the intake manifold and locate the two knock sensors and trace their leads back to the common connector. Remove the intake manifold and then remove the knock sensor assembly by removing the mounting bolts. Make sure to clean the holes for the mounting bolts before installing the new knock sensor assembly. For 3.7L V6 engines, note that the left knock sensor is identified by an identification tag and has a larger mounting bolt. Do not install the left knock sensor in the right sensor mounting position and vice versa, as it will confuse the PCM and cause a Diagnostic Trouble Code. Installation is the reverse of removal, making sure to tighten the knock sensor mounting bolts to the common connector. Q:
Where are the knock sensors located for the 2012 Ram 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
For the 3.6L V6 engine, there are two knock sensors located below the lower intake manifold area. The sensor closest to the front of the engine is Sensor 1, and the other is Sensor 2. They can be found in the valley between the cylinder banks. For the 3.7L V6 and 4.7L V8 engines, the knock sensor is located at the rear of the engine, behind the intake manifold. For HEMI engines, there are two knock sensors located on the left and right sides of the block, below the exhaust manifold.
