    Q:
How can fluid leakage in the shock absorbers be checked for the 2008 Chrysler 300? Posted by Customer
    A:
Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jack stands to check the shock absorbers for evidence of fluid leakage. A light film of fluid is not a cause for concern, but if leakage is noted, the shocks should be replaced as a set. Also, check the shocks to ensure they are securely mounted and undamaged, and inspect the upper mounts for damage and wear.

    Q:
What additional steps are involved when servicing load-leveling shock absorbers for the 2007 Chrysler 300? Posted by Customer
    A:
When servicing the left shock absorber, remove the rubber hose between the fuel filler neck and the gas tank and move the filler neck aside. If dealing with dual exhaust or the right shock absorber, lower the exhaust and support it with jackstands or another jack. Place a floor jack under the rear differential to support the suspension and subframe. Support the spring link with a floor jack and wood block and remove the fasteners attaching the upper end of the shock absorber to the frame. Slowly lower the floor jack supporting the spring link. Remove the fasteners at the lower end of the shock and mark the subframe in relation to the chassis before removing the front and rear subframe fasteners on the side being worked on.

    Q:
What is the process for installing the shock absorber/coil spring assembly for the 2010 Dodge Charger? Posted by Customer
    A:
Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the mounting fasteners. Note: Raise the lower control arm with a floor jack to simulate normal ride height before lightening lower shock absorber mounting fasteners. Tighten the wheel lug nuts.

    Q:
How can the shock absorbers be checked for the 2009 Dodge Charger? Posted by Customer
    A:
To check the shock absorbers, park the vehicle on level ground, turn off the engine, and set the parking brake. Push down at one corner of the vehicle and release it, noting the movement of the body. It should stop moving and come to rest in a level position within one or two bounces. If the vehicle continues to move up and down or fails to return to its original position, a worn or weak shock absorber is likely the reason. Repeat this check at each of the three remaining corners of the vehicle.
