To replace the right mount, remove the coolant reservoir, raise the vehicle, and remove the under-vehicle splash shield. Move the heater tube out of the way, then remove the engine mount bracket-to-timing cover support bolts and the engine mount bracket-to-mount bolts. Support the engine, remove the engine mount-to-body bolts, and the body-to-mount bolts from underneath. Replace the engine mount, tighten the body-to-mount bolts, lower the engine, and tighten the mount-to-bracket bolts. The installation follows the reverse order.

For the rear mount: 1. Raise the vehicle and remove the engine splash shield and downstream oxygen sensor. 2. Support the engine. 3. Remove the rear mount bracket-to-subframe bolts and the mount through-bolt. 4. Remove the mount by twisting it slightly. 5. Install the new mount into the bracket and tighten the through-bolt by hand. 6. Align the mount to the subframe, install and tighten the bolts to the specified torque, and finish by tightening the through bolt. 7. Installation follows the reverse order.

To replace the front mount, raise the vehicle and support the engine with a block of wood. Remove the front mount through-bolt, crossmember-to-mount bolt, and crossmember mounting bolts before removing the mount. If the mount bracket needs replacement, remove the bracket-to-block bolts. The installation follows the reverse order.

The mounts should be inspected for cracks, hardened rubber, or separation from the metal backing. Additionally, any relative movement between the mount plates and the engine or frame should be checked.

The right mount requires removing the lower splash shield, engine ground strap, and specific fasteners before installing a new mount.

Applying rubber preservative can help slow deterioration.
