Raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Apply the parking brake and remove the wheels. For models with hydraulic rack-and-pinion steering gear, remove the intermediate shaft coupler pinch bolt and disconnect the power steering pressure and return lines. For models with electric power steering, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal and disconnect the EPS electrical connector.
